Arctic Warmth
Wapusk National Park, Manitoba, Canada - Edition of 500 Newborn polar bear cubs are completely dependent on their mother for survival. With blowing snow, flat landscapes void of trees, and temperatures often colder than 40 degrees below zero, these young ones take refuge in the warmth of their mother's presence for survival. As the blowing snow gathers upon the mother, these youngsters take time to gaze across the snowscape as she continually samples the winds for the smell of a potential meal. taken 3/07
