Blueberry Harvest
Denali National Park, Alaska - Edition of 500 Grizzly bears in the interior of Alaska rely on the autumn berry harvest to build fat reserves which enable them to survive the long winters. Biologists have estimates that a bear can eat over 100,000 berries in a single day. The Denali tundra is covered with a variety of berries; blueberries are among the most abundant and make a fulfilling meal for this female grizzly. taken 9/07
