Great Bear Rainforest
Inside Passage, British Columbia - Edition of 500 Rainforests are typically associated with the tropics and South America. However, coastal British Columbia and southeastern Alaska posses some of the worlds most prolific rainforests. Consisting of old growth conifers, these forests nurture a great abundance of wildlife. The annual salmon migrations take place on streams such as this one and nourish the entire ecosystems. Both brown and black bears thrive in these forests and can often be glimpsed searching for fish. taken 8/08
