Savannah Watch
Okavango Delta, Botswana - Edition of 500 Leopards are often observed in trees. Amazingly, leopards are able to haul prey nearly three times their own weight up a tree where they are safe from lions and hyenas. When not feeding, leopards utilize trees to rest and scan the landscape with a bird’s eye view. Elephants also depend on trees, but mainly for food. This tree had actually been pushed over by a feeding elephant. The break of the tree, nearly 12 feet off the ground, made for a great leopard vantage point. taken 6/06
