Winter Itch
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming - Edition of 1500 This coyote stopped to take care of an itch on a sunny day in the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone. The Lamar is one of the richest and most diverse wildlife habitats in North America. Sunny, warm winter days in this wildlife have temporarily reduced the harsh difficulty of winter survival. In this image, he had just stuck his nose in the snow in search of a mouse and some of the soft powder stayed there as he scratched. If you look closely, you might even see a slight smile. taken 1/98
