McNeil River, Alaska - Edition of 500

Salmon leave the ocean and enter Alaska's rivers to spawn during the summer months.  The fish arrive in waves which often correlate with the ocean tides.  The bears wait anxiously for the first salmon of the year - mom and cub stake out their fishing spot on a small river island and wait.   taken 6/08
