After many years of photographing Colorado’s autumn aspens, I’ve come to realize that each grove has only one standout day when its colors reach their ‘peak color'. It doesn’t happen every year—some seasons the leaves are muted, the wind strips them early, or clouds dull the light. But every so often, nature offers a nearly perfect display. This image captures one of those rare moments. Shortly after sunrise, this beautiful aspen grove seemed to glow in the warm morning light, its brilliance mirrored almost flawlessly in a small beaver pond. The complementary pairing of yellow and blue creates a portrait of the landscape that speaks to nature's quiet and inspiring power.
