Evergreens and Aspens

While the Colorado autumn colors are captivating, the beauty is taken to another level when the first snow of the year combines with the peak aspen colors. The snow is able to accumulate on the evergreen tree needles, but the fluttering aspen leaves are a more difficult target for the snowflakes. The morning sun breaks through the clearing storm and adds brilliant light to the orange aspens and snow-covered evergreens.  The resulting scene is both captivating and rare.
