Brilliant wildflowers are one of nature's most magnificent and elusive displays. The flowers bloom with different intensity and timing each year depending on a variety of climate variables. This summer of 2012 in the Pacific Northwest yielded a late but brilliant bloom. The rising sun highlights the glaciers emerging from the fog on this ancient volcano flanked with fields of flowers.
