Colorado River, Arizona

The Colorado River is an iconic and critical waterway for the West. Over the eons it has carved the Grand Canyon and provided nourishing water to the arid Southwest. Prior to entering the Grand Canyon, the river meanders through the red sandstone canyons of northern Arizona after being joined by the San Juan River in Lake Powell. Under rare high clouds at sunset, the river continues its journey through this timeless canyon landscape.
