Like most plant life, aspen trees reach toward the sun in order to maximize their exposure to its life-giving rays. Trees standing over 80 feet tall focus their energy on leaf production only near the forest canopy where the sunlight can be effectively captured. As the sun rises on another clear and crisp autumn day, these aspens begin preparing for winter and exhibit amazing colors in the process.
