Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

The open plains of the Serengeti provide an ideal habitat for cheetahs. The beautiful cats are unique in with their ‘tear drop’ eye markings, incredible speed, and graceful strength. They spend their days scanning the herds looking for signs of weakness and opportunity. Female cheetah usually hunt by themselves and must work quickly to avoid competition from lions and hyenas. The plentiful rains bring wildflowers and green grass as another round of showers begin to build in the distant skies.
