Uncompahgre National Forest, Colorado
 
Mountain forests amaze me. A large evergreen grows in the midst of this dynamic aspen grove. Having already lost most of their leaves, the remaining golds shimmer in the early morning sunlight. These first snows don’t last long, but do make for amazing autumn scenes during their brief appearances.
